“Coaching focuses on future possibilities, not past mistakes”
John Whitmore, Coaching for Performance

As I move through life, I notice more and more how friends, family and acquaintances seek me out when they are experiencing personal or work difficulties or they have a problem that they need advice and support with.
I have pretty much ‘seen it all’. I have been through grief and loss, illness, career and parenting challenges, oh and the menopause, at a time before Davina!
My career and training has spanned more than 30 years working with people, figuring out what makes us tick, how we motivate ourselves and working through ways of identifying the right jobs that allow us to thrive.
I trained as a Life Coach because I wanted to support people through the challenges and bumps in the road that life throws at all of us.
I’m loving this opportunity to work with people I know I can help and where I think I can add value. It’s as simple as that.

I asked Cathy to help me work through some problems in my personal and work life. It was a first for me to have such help and Cathy quickly created a safe, focused space where I felt listened to, while also gently challenging my assumptions and reasoning.
The experience was genuinely helpful and thought-provoking. Cathy has a calm, attentive style which greatly helped me gain clarity on what was important to me and left me with practical insights and a clearer sense of direction.
I’d happily recommend Cathy to anyone looking for supportive, reflective coaching.

I met Cathy Little at a time in my life that was full of turmoil and indecision.
I was about to retire from nursing after over 40 years in the NHS and was at a loss as to what was next for me in life. Suffering from a complete loss of identity, grieving the loss of my career and I was really struggling to see what the future held. These feelings were becoming overwhelming.
Cathy provided a warm and welcoming environment for our sessions. She was professional at all times and I instantly felt at ease. Through her guidance and support she enabled me to organise my thoughts and allowed me to work through my anxieties and grow in confidence.
During the sessions we made use of worksheets, self help tools and other resources and I completed ‘homework’ between sessions. I began to recognise my strengths over and above my overriding thoughts of only my ‘weaknesses’, and to see my confusing lists turning into aims and realities. This enabled me to formulate a plan for moving forward in my retirement and think outside the ‘box’.
Although our time together was quite short and at the beginning of Cathy’s Life Coaching journey, she always made me feel listened to, never rushed and the boundaries set where always adhered to.

Cathy’s life coaching has been genuinely transformative for me. When I first began, I felt overwhelmed by work stress and disconnected from my own abilities. Through her support, I’ve learned how to manage pressure in a healthier way and approach challenges with far more clarity and calm.
Her approach — grounded in empathy and absolute confidentiality — immediately made the process feel safe. She breaks goals down into manageable, realistic steps, which stopped everything from feeling so daunting. Combined with her thoughtful listening skills and a genuine warmth and interest in my success, I felt supported rather than pushed.
Cathy also seemed to have an instinctive sense of where help was most needed, and just how much pressure to apply in what felt very personal, scary and new. Because of her guidance, I’ve rediscovered confidence in my vocational skills, especially in creating visual art, and I’ve begun to accept myself as I am rather than viewing my work through the confines of old, programmed beliefs. I’m deeply grateful for her insight and encouragement.

I found Cathy’s life coaching approach both grounding and questioning. She held space and encouraged me to ask better and more relevant questions of and for myself. I also left with a plan and set of priorities to undertake it.
Personally I enjoyed a stimulating interaction with a positive person!
